Point Pelee 2004

Kirtland's Warbler

Another great few days of birding.  We were later this year than normal, and the trees were much more in leaf than usual.  Quantity of birds was low (best day was 80, compared with a best day last year of 102), but there was good quality, including a few lifers (Worm-eating Warbler!) and a very cooperative Kirtland's Warbler.

Here is a gallery of a few of the notable birds.

Great Egret

Snapping Turtle

As an aside, this snapping turtle floated by the Two-creeks campground at Wheatley Provincial Park where we stayed.  It was huge, and looked like it had a stone house grafted to it's shell!
