Looking out over Sierra Vista from Carr Canyon

After a long, rather nerve-wracking drive up the Carr Canyon road, we finally found a switch-back with enough room to allow us to turn around.  Pattie offered to "guide me" and wouldn't get into the car while I turned around :-)

And, yes, this is the road.  Check out the tire tracks that lead almost to the edge.  As noted in Finding Birds in Southeast Arizona:

"... the road narrows to one lane... is switch backed, rough and gullied... it is not the road for acrophobes... few guard rails despite 300 foot drop-offs..." Our rental car (a Grand Prix) was sorely tested.
