Dealing with an army of Army Ants

We all had a little chuckle when another group passed us, stopped, and then we watched more and more of them start hopping around and scratching; they were smack in the middle of an Army Ant swarm. We avoided them by walking through quickly. These and Leaf-cutter Ants were the most common. Andy pointed out a large (at least 1 inch) Bullet Ant at one point -- so named because its poisonous bite feels just like being shot.
