We stayed here at first, and then for a night between the end of the tour and before heading off to Arenal. Pattie set up camp in the room where she could read and do her needle-work. .Around the resort  The pool

Around downtown San Jose with Leo and Pattie Today we decided to tour around San Jose with Leo.  He took us to a bakery he likes (and now we like it too :-), and enjoyed great coffee. Around downtown San Jose with Leo and Pattie

Leo then took us through the National Theatre, which reminded Pattie and me of a somewhat grander Imperial Theatre.

The paintings on the ceilings were beautiful, as were the furnishings and carvings.

After that, we then met up with Leo's wife Shirley, had lunch, and then we toured the Gold Museum.

Touring the Gold Museum Although Costa Rica was not the treasure trove of gold and other valuables that other parts of Latin America was, it was still fascinating to see how the precious metals figured in their ancient history. A place of solitude in the Gold Museum

Hi up, overlooking San Jose We closed off the day by picking up Leo's kids, and heading up to Tiquicia, a charming restaurant with great food and entertainment. Hi up, overlooking San Jose Hi up, overlooking San Jose
